What determines the price of balcony flooring?

"How much does it cost?" - that is the most common question we hear. The answer is: it depends. But do not worry - in this article we break down the cost into its components so you know what to expect.

Several factors influence the price of balcony flooring:

Cost breakdown components

A complete balcony flooring estimate consists of several items:

1. Composite panels

The largest item in the budget. The price depends on the chosen pattern and raw stock length. Panels are purchased in standard lengths (approx. 240 cm or 400 cm) and cut to size.

No markup on panels: At BalkonSetup we do not add any margin to the panel price. You buy them at the same price as if you ordered directly from the manufacturer. You only pay for the service.

2. Joists (substructure)

Joists form the frame beneath the panels. The standard stock is 3-metre lengths - our system optimally cuts them to minimise waste. The cost depends on joist spacing and balcony area.

3. Mounting clips

Clips connect the panels to the joists. The quantity is determined by the project - it depends on the number of joists and panel rows.

4. Butyl tape

Insulates the joists from the screed. A relatively inexpensive item, but essential - it protects against vibrations and noise.

5. Installation service

Includes: travel, subfloor preparation, joist laying, and panel mounting.

What affects the final price?

Panel pattern

Different panel series vary in price. Premium patterns (e.g. exotic wood imitation) cost more than basic ones. The difference between the cheapest and most expensive pattern is approximately 15 - 25% of the total estimate.

Balcony shape

A rectangular balcony generates less waste than an L-shape. On a corner balcony, panels must be cut at different angles, increasing material consumption by 5 - 10%.

Panel length

Longer raw stock means fewer joints and clips. But longer panels (400 cm) are not always more cost-effective - on a small balcony they generate more waste. Our simulator selects the optimal length automatically.

Comparison with other solutions

Solution Material + installation cost / m² Annual maintenance cost
Ceramic tiles 150 - 350 zł ~0 zł
Exotic hardwood 300 - 600 zł 50 - 100 zł (oil + labour)
Composite panels 250 - 450 zł 0 zł
Artificial grass 80 - 200 zł Replacement every 3 - 5 years

Looking at the 10-year cost, composite panels come out on top - zero maintenance, zero additional expenses.
